Why We are the Best
At Collmisson, admissions consulting is a professional calling and a full-time career, not an after-hours hobby. Our sole focus is serving you—our client—and helping you succeed. Getting into an elite US school is a crucial step in your career, so you deserve to have someone in your corner who is as committed to this goal as you are. Just as you would not hire a part-time lawyer to represent you in court, you would not want to hire a part-time consultant to help you at this inflection point in your life. You should have a partner who is there for you when you need him/her and is immersed in this field day in and day out.
Employ Full Time Employees
Our team never stops learning and training. Every other Tuesday, we have a full team meeting, where we update one another on admissions developments, introduce new ideas, and conduct consultant teach-ins. Every day, we share MBA news and discuss and debate application-related issues via an internal team email string. And at our annual two-day, full-company conference, we gather off-site to discuss best practices and continue to improve our skills and knowledge base. We have an incomparable ongoing training program, because we know that being at the top of our game means our clients have the best chance of success.
Manage Our Capacity
Each year, we have to turn away interested applicants because we have no room to take on additional clients. Plain and simple, we would rather refuse new clients than underserve them. Our policy is to return clients’ work within two business days at the most and to respond to all emails within one business day, though we often do so in less time. We take this commitment seriously, and upholding it requires that we never overbook our consultants. Again, because this is our full-time profession, we are able to respond to our clients’ needs in a measured, well-planned, and timely manner. We control our schedules, plan our work flow, and are always positioned to deliver a first-class product..
Employs The Best
For every new consultant we hire, we receive and consider at least 50 resumes. Four different team members review the applicants, and only when all four agree on a candidate do we arrange an interview—multiple interviews, in fact. Next come writing assignments, editing tests, mock consultations, practice brainstorming sessions, and other evaluative tasks. Each new consultant is extensively tested, before beginning several weeks of intense training. At collmission, we do not blindly hire aspiring consultants simply because they once worked at or attended a top business school—we require far more. We are proud to have stringent hiring and training practices, because our goal is to provide the highest possible level of service for our clients.
